When it comes to social media, most people then to focus on the platform and the community.
However, Andrew Chow, a social media strategist suggests otherwise. Rather than focusing on the platform, he suggests that we should focus on the content that we post.
“CONTENT IS KING! “
That’s a pretty common quote. But how many of us actually take that seriously?
Anyway, If you like formulas, Andrew came up with an interesting one to sum up the social media advertising ‘game’.
SM = C^3 x P
The three Cs are: Content, Conversation and Community
The P: Platform
Beyond the formula, the individual components build on each other.
Back to CONTENT IS KING;
Andrew’s take is that; good CONTENT will lead to good CONVERSATIONS attracting the right, targeted audience leading to a good COMMUNITY. The presence of these three components define a good PLATFORM.
good CONTENT -> good CONVERSATIONS -> good COMMUNITY -> good PLATFORM
This was a mind-blowing tip for me because I realised that we have been looking at the formula in the wrong direction. Most of us spend too much time trying to decide on a good platform. Rather than doing this, we should just focus on releasing GOOD CONTENT, which will ultimately lead to the development of our ideal platform.
